With much of the South Street Seaport Museum (SSSM) impacted by Super Storm Sandy, TCT was retained by SSSM to provide FEMA-related cost estimating services from conceptual through design phases on an on-call basis. The scope of services provided included: cost estimating of specific items related to the FEMA Project Worksheet; development of damage dimensions as necessary for the Project Worksheet; and re-quoting of existing estimates.
The scope of mitigation work included the raising of electrical service, air conditioning, kiosk, and on-site café above the flood plain; the replacement of damaged flooring with resilient composite flooring; the installation of a new machine room, resilient exterior-grade escalator, and a backup generator on the roof; and the addition of an SSSM boiler in the new NYCEDC property-wide heating system, dehumidification and climate control system, and storage spaces.
