As identified in the 2010 Facilities Master Plan, the SUNY Stony Brook Student Union had a backlog of critical maintenance on all major systems and components, as well as its exterior elements. This rehabilitation reduced the backlog of critical maintenance and restores the building to overall excellent condition. Upon completion, the building will house the Bursar’s Office, Office of Student Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, multipurpose rooms, classrooms, and a student café.
TCT provided a pre-bid estimate and priced two lists of VMs for the phased rehabilitation of the 150,000 GSF building. The scope included the repair or replacement of the HVAC system, electrical system, fire alarm, plumbing systems, windows and doors, walls, ceiling, hardware, floors, roof, elevators, controls, and exterior walls and associated elements. The project is LEED Silver certified.
