TCT prepared schematic phase estimates for The University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP) Replacement Hospital. The schematic estimate was broken into five sections: New Inpatient Tower (Hospital), New D+T Building, Building 2 Renovation, CUP, and Site Works.
UMCP is a 238-bed acute care hospital with a total area of approximately 575,000 SF. The replacement hospital included approximately 515,000 SF of new construction and 60,000 SF of renovated area in an existing two-story structure connected to the new hospital via a two-story concourse. The hospital will also connect to a new Medical Office Building to the north that will be developed under a separate contract.
Diagnostic and Treatment Services are located in the two-story base of the new patient tower, with Support Services and loading dock located on the lower level. Administrative and additional Support Services for the hospital are located in the renovated areas of the two-story existing structure. Available retail space and a Fitness Center will also be located in the existing structure and will be developed under separate contracts.
This project included a number of early works packages to facilitate an accelerated schedule. It was also designed using BIM.
