During Superstorm Sandy, flooding affected 10 of the NYC DEP‘s 14 Wastewater Treatment Plants and 42 of its 96 Wastewater pumping stations. Since the storm, there has been a projected increase in flood risk stemming from continued sea level rise due to climate change and more extreme storm surge events. This cause and effect has led to the DEP to harden its wastewater infrastructure and reduce the probability of damage, service disruptions, and environmental impacts from surge events.
TCT provided cost estimating services in support of program and construction management for the project. As part of this contract, TCT prepared a unit price book for use with the DEP JOC’s contracts. The unit prices are based on NYC union labor rates, NYC material prices and equipment pricing from the Blue Book.
