The Maintenance and Operations Facility is a new, four-story facility located at the southernmost point of the High Line. TCT provided cost estimating and value engineering services for the new facility, which houses crucial resources to manage, maintain, and operate the High Line. A collaboration between Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Beyer Blinder Belle, the project achieved LEED Silver certification and was constructed of painted steel, brick, and multi-paned windows.
The full-service maintenance and operations facility provides direct street-level and High Line-level access for materials, equipment and park maintenance vehicles to be moved on and off the elevated park. The building accommodates 70 operations and administrative staff and provides the following public elements: restrooms, an information booth, facilities for volunteers, a public meeting room, and a public/staff elevator.
